Education & Training for Energy & Water Professionals
Taking an online class first and foremost means having a consistently reliable internet access. A home connection isn't required but is encouraged since many courses will use materials that will not be able to be downloaded for offline playback. Much of the content presented in our Learning Management System (LMS) will be designed with mobile users (cellphone & tablet) in mind.
\r\nHowever, it is highly recommended students own or have regular use of a desktop or laptop that's no more then 5 years old.
\r\nOur reasoning is:
\r\nBy enrolling in a class at Lane Community College, all students are protected by the College's liability insurance. However, because this program is a unique combination of online and fieldwork outside a physical campus, it's a bit more complicated to explain. Rest assured, we have worked with both legal council and our Fieldwork Mentors to construct documentation that provides the assurance that student safety is considered. Proof of coverage is available upon request.
We want to see our students succeed – Period! We fully expect that you will make every effort to work with your Fieldwork Mentor such that you'll be able to complete the assignment by the end of the due date and or Term. However, we realize that final projects and unforeseen life events can derail those efforts. It will be up to you (the student) to communicate and make arrangements with your online instructor to extend any due date especially if the new due date expands beyond the end of the term.
