Staff

Good people are always hard to find--our staff include some of the hardest working people out there and are easily found within our offices! They keep our programs running strong and without them, we would not be able to continue to provide the quality of Education that we do.

Roger Ebbage

Roger Ebbage | Director of Energy and Water Programs | 541-463-3977

Having an interest in solar energy beginning in the late seventies, Roger was able to convince a Science Division hiring team to bring him on as the LCC Energy Management Program Coordinator in 1992. Since that time he's been working with an exceptional staff and energy colleagues (SOLARC, EWEB, BPA, NWPPA, NEEA) throughout the Northwest to develop what has become the national model for energy education.

In 1998 Roger created the Northwest Energy Education Institute providing professional development training opportunities nationally and internationally and has been honored by the Association of Professional Energy Managers, the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, and the Community College League for Innovation with achievement awards. Roger's particular professional interest is working with students who are entering the energy industry through the LCC two year degree opportunities, although he had some difficulties with the Red Team Leader.

Ginny Young

Ginny K Young | Office Manager | 541-463-4729

Ever since the program's re-birth in 1992 and the addition of the Northwest Energy Education Institute (NEEI) in 1997, Ginny has acted as our Energy Program midwife.

She is the guru of finances as well as the magician keeping our heads above the rising waters. She is the pacifier, arbitrator and counselor for both student and staff!  In other words; Ginny manages the office, Coordinates our various programs and workshops for students and staff, directs traffic, keep things progressing, protects the fort, and bakes delicious cookies to encourage attendance at our staff meetings.  She possesses a tremendous wealth of knowledge in regards to NEEI and is usually the first line of information when you need help or program information.

Erik Westerholm

Erik Westerholm | Project Specialist / Red Team Leader | 541-463-5798

Erik grew up on farms in Lane and Clatsop counties, and always marveled at the self sufficient lifestyles of his Scandinavian grandparents. A degree in Geography from the University of Oregon led to a career in Aerial Photography, and an interest in Renewable Energy led him to NEEI.  Erik enrolled in 2003, began working for NEEI in 2004, and the rest is history.

Erik facilitates the Building Operator Certification Program, administers the Oregon Renewable Energy Apprenticeships, and travels widely to promote the Energy Programs. Erik enjoys Habitat and Stream-bed Restoration projects and can be seen puttering about the West in his bright blue bio-diesel powered Chevy LUV. Give a friendly honk, and he'll pull over to let you pass!

Elaine Vidal

Elaine Vidal | Project Specialist | 541-463-3154

Elaine is a graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Psychology who worked as a social worker before graduating from the Energy Management program in 2004.  She found the program so worthwhile and the comradeship of the faculty and staff so appealing that she stayed on as NEEI’s amanuensis and jack-of-all trades. She has been involved in every aspect of all programs offered - at least once - acting alternately as planner and expediter and, on a human level, counselor and tutor.

Josh Manders

Josh Manders | Project Specialist | 541-463-3154

As a 2009 graduate of the Energy Management program, Josh is heading up efforts to improve our connection to the online environment. Originally from Vermont, he brings a profusion of expertise in graphic design, electronic multimedia publishing, problem solving, logical thinking, presentation and training skills. In fact, NEEI employed his design skills to create this very website!

Josh is our talented technical guide and resident gadgeteer. Give him any new electronic gizmo and chances are -- he'll have it figured out in moments. His dedicated interest and involvement within the energy industry, continually motivates him to find solutions and new opportunities for energy efficient design.
