Eugene Solar Tour 2008 - PRESS RELEASE

On October 5, 2008, three Lane Community College Energy Management students, working in conjunction with representatives from the City of Eugene Planning and Development Office, the Eugene Water and Electric Board, Solar Oregon, the American Solar Energy Society and the Northwest Energy Education Institute, will present the 2008 Eugene Solar Tour!

Starting the Solar Tour on a high note, tour participants will be entertained and inspired by chairman of the American Solar Energy Society and Vice President of the Energy Trust of Oregon -  John Reynolds.  Following the introductory presentation, there will be a guided tour of four local businesses and homes that have solar and other green building features. Each location will have an experienced representative to answer questions and point out unique aspects of each installation.

The Eugene Solar Tour was revived by a local Lane Community College student - Marianne McElroy who is enrolled in the Energy Management AAS program at Lane Community College.  Along with fellow Tour volunteer organizers Josh Manders and Michael Brown,  all three students are excited about the opportunity to be part of the country's largest-ever solar event.
