Summer Energy Educator Series (SEES)
Funded by the National Science Foundation
As the Energy industry continues to grow at an exponential rate, so does the need for highly trained educators and trainers who possess both the technical skills needed to understand building sciences and the classroom skills to effectively teach the next generation of Energy workers. The SEES 5-day training was created specifically to assist community colleges and technical training schools that wish to develop their own energy management degree programs by providing new instructors with valuable knowledge and expertise.
Participation in this workshop is currently limited to colleges or institutions who are willing to partner with NEEI under the Leading Alternatives in National Energy Solutions (LANES) National Science Foundation grant. Each day is packed with information and opportunities to ask questions of existing instructors about energy related materials. LaneCC instructors will include in their presentations such things as how they run classes, sample projects, example materials, typical assignments as well as examples of what's worked and what hasn't. Each participant will be given resources that they can use within their own classes along with some hands on experience deploying dataloggers, analyzing energy usage, basic energy auditing and using calculations to document energy savings.
Size is capped at a maximum of 10 people to encourage active participation and ensure plenty of opportunity for individual questions.

Cost
Free! OK..... nearly free ;-) But there are always a few conditions:
- You must be involved with a community college / training center that is ACTIVELY creating (or will be) an Energy Management Program and involved with the LANES National Science Foundation grant.
- You or your institution must cover your flights to and from our location (Eugene, OR).
We cover all other costs including: Hotel for 4 nights (with expanded Continental Breakfast), Catered Lunch, Dinner either provided or generous stipend, Taxi transportation to/from airport, transportation to/from LaneCC campus, Energy Toolkit (in varying degrees of size) and more.
