Roger Ebbage's Resume (the short version)
Roger Ebbage holds an MA in Environmental Studies / Industrial Arts with a Passive Solar Design Emphasis. He is an Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager, a California Certified Energy Auditor, a Bonneville Power Administration Certified Energy Auditor/Inspector, and a general building contractor. He was recently was selected as the “Energy Manager of the Year” by the US National Association of Professional Energy Managers, “Innovator of the Year” by the Community College League for Innovation, and received a Special Recognition Award from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council for his contribution to the Solar Energy Industry.
Mr. Ebbage has been the Energy Management Program Manager at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon, since 1992 and has made the program a national model for energy education. After developing and piloting several energy-efficiency workshops in the residential and commercial sectors, Ebbage found and serves as Director of the Northwest Energy Education Institute. His duties as Director include identifying energy-efficiency market trends, developing/teaching workshops based upon market trends, evaluating training programs, and providing technical expert consulting.
Ebbage has been a technical advisor on a number of national and international curriculum development projects including the New Zealand Central Institute of Technology (CIT) Diploma of Energy Management, the Partner for Environmental Technical Education National Energy Model Curriculum, and the NSF Advanced Technology Environmental Education Center. Ebbage was recently awarded an NSF grant to expand his energy management program at community colleges nationally.
Ebbage created the Energy Management Certification and Speaker Series Program that provides professional development opportunities for energy efficiency practitioners from a national audience. The Speaker Series has hosted such sustainability notables as Bill McDonough and Paul Hawken. He has developed and taught programs for the University of Argentina at San Miguel Tucuman and the American University at Beirut in energy efficiency and the auditing process.
