Energy Management Certification (EMC)

Energy Management Certification - July 7 - 18, 2014

EMC is an advanced certification program that requires the student to implement an energy-saving project, and measure the results.

This program goes beyond the fundamentals and teaches a broad spectrum of energy management principles and techniques. Topics include building energy use, glazing, insulation, building envelope, heating/cooling, secondary HVAC, controls, central plant equipment, energy auditing, operation and maintenance. Each topic is covered by a discipline expert.

In the Spring of 2003, an independent evaluation of the EMC program was conducted. The resulting “Market Progress Evaluation Report” examines the NWEEI program over the years 2000-2002. pdfEMC_Evaluation.pdf

The following are direct quotes from EMC students, as reported in Con.WEB’s article:

“The Energy Management Certification Program offers learning and dollar savings”

“Professional energy education can provide more than learning”

“It can also bring financial benefits to organizations, as shown by the Energy Management Certification program offered by the Northwest Energy Education Institute”

“EMC graduates are creating substantial energy bill savings for their employers, stemming from efficiency projects required for certification as well as from training at EMC workshops. These attributable dollar savings can reach tens of thousands of dollars annually”

EMC is significantly more valuable than conventional, testing-based certification programs. Certification from NWEEI is proof of actual hands-on experience!
