Overview:Precision Resource Company (Precision), http://www.precisionresourcecompany.com/, established in 1996, is a full-service, nationwide, total solutions staffing provider.  Precision’s personnel are routinely involved with projects in power plants, refineries, energy plants and industrial facilities from coast to coast.
  We provide personnel for contract staffing, direct placement positions and managed resource programs.
 
Precision Resource Company is currently seeking a Construction Supervisor - Solar for a 1-year contract assignment located in Oahu, HI.
  
LOCAL candidates only - Per Diem and Mob/Demob are not available for this position.
Responsibilities:The Construction Supervisor is responsible for PV Solar project support and coordination of resources for construction and engineering activities for projects in the Development and Execution phases. The PM will be responsible for the successful construction execution of the project as well as all reporting requirements requested by Management.
  • Duties include project management/coordination of PV Solar projects to ensure resources are focused on Development and Construction Execution with an executable construction plan (including schedule and budget).
  • Day to day activities as Project Manager include review and reporting of the project’s technical scope, coordinating engineering and procurement teams, permit and Development support, scheduling, engaging geotechnical and survey activities, supporting the construction cost estimating team with assumptions and delivering financial model inputs to the respective business unit, represent projects and the Department at on site meetings, briefing the various levels of management on a project’s progress, issues and risk mitigation. The Project manager will be responsible for coordination of contractors on site and off site, tracking of deliverables, materials, and schedule milestones, invoice reporting and review, scope review and bid award process management. Quality assurance and quality control management and process implementation on a project specific basis will also be managed during the construction execution portion of the project.
  • Commissioning processes and outage management will be top priorities during the construction execution phases and will be a large portion of the Project manager’s responsibility. Communication skills and coordination abilities are key factors in a candidate for this position.
  • Projects include various installations of PV Solar. This position will be project bound, and will require travel. A strong background in project management and construction means and methods preferred. Government contract experience preferred.  
  • Strong understanding of DC and AC system design, National Electrical Code, and familiarity with available approved products commonly used in the North American market.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of utility interconnection requirements and commonly used technical solutions for behind-the-meter, distributed and utility-direct interconnections. Horizontal Directional Drilling experience preferred.

Job Requirements

Skill Requirements: Scheduling software, Primavera, Microsoft Office Suite, Sharepoint, Viewpoint or other similar project management systems
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Project Management. Other disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in project management. Additionally, Five (5) years in solar, battery storage or utility construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of DC and AC system design, National Electrical Code, and familiarity with available approved products commonly used in the North American market.
  • Knowledgeable in areas of utility interconnection requirements and commonly used technical solutions for behind-the-meter, distributed and utility-direct interconnections.
  • Knowledgeable in construction plan set preparation and review.
  • Experience in modeling battery-based energy storage a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting timelines and dynamic project requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, analytical, and quantitative skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team in a relatively unstructured work environment with little supervision.
  • Ability to travel 30-50% as necessary.
