Job Description

NAME: Commercial Solar Sales Person

 

OBJECTIVE: To size and close several commercial sales per month

 


District Sun provides solar photovoltaic solutions to the food and wine trails of New York State.

We have developed a portfolio of projects to act as a model and template to dominate and penetrate this sector with little competition. Project size ranges from 50 Kw to 200 Kw. We have a great team in place to continue the momentum and excitement over projects in this space. Our team includes professionals in marketing, sales management, administration, PV engineering, finance and legal, equipment procurement and construction management. We have a tested sales process and complete team in place in the Finger Lakes , NY.

 

District Sun is looking for the right person to sell the projects for the second portfolio for 2015-2016 and beyond. The table is set for success for the right commercial solar sales person ready to take on this exciting opportunity.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE POSITION

Responsible for:

  • Interfacing with marketing team to obtain stream of qualified leads
  • Setting up own appointments and running sales calls
  • Complete all steps in sales process
  • Gathering complete information at site to properly size and price the project
  • Preparing and sending financial reviews and proposals and any other material to support the sale
  • Address all objections and provide back-up to client to overcome objections
  • Presenting and explaining deal points in contract to potential clients
  • Maintaining a professional appearance and attitude to always reflect the Brand of District Sun
  • Coordinating and attending meetings and conference calls with facilities, finance and legal representative of the client
  • Interfacing with Engineering to obtain preliminary site maps for proposals
  • Submitting field information and signature pages to administration to submit applications to NYSERDA, NYSEG and local building department
  • Conducting tours with prospective clients of existing client sites
  • Preparing and attending industry meetings and trade shows
  • Canvas area of nearby properties to existing commercial solar projects
  • Obtaining referrals from your satisfied customers at your completed projects
  • Creating and maintaining sales pipeline
  • Reporting weekly sales and progress to management
  • Identifying and presenting challenges in an organized fashion to team in efforts to offer creative solutions
  • Setting up sales calls with sales manager for review and training purposes
  • Attending staff conference calls
  • Organizing sales tools and equipment
  • Maintaining your personal vehicle
  • Maintaining company laptop and cell phone service and apps

Professional Expectations

 

District Sun expects technical sales representative to be professional, persistent and independent.

The sales professional must also be extremely organized, accountable for all paperwork and able to retrieve information readily for projects in all different stages. Person must be punctual for sales calls and conference calls.

Important to keep a “sales” upbeat attitude and professional demeanor to internal staff and external customers and customer representatives at ALL times.

Benefits Provided

 

Pay 1/3 of family health benefits

Pay IRS established car reimbursement fee monthly

 

Compensation

$20,000 plus travel, plus 30% family Health benefits, plus full cellphone, laptop and Wi-Fi set up and printer

 

7 cents per watt commission

1/3 paid upon signing of contract

1/3 paid upon completion of permit process

1/3 paid upon delivery of equipment to site

 

Expected salary of $200,000 plus per year
