Job Title: BAS Controls Technician

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Monitors the building automation and controls system for energy efficiency and proper operation; performs diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs as necessary; writes/enhances

programs in consultation with the building manager; works with HVAC department to analyze and correct environmental issues within established guidelines.

Utilizes knowledge of electronics, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory and building control techniques.

Job Duties:

Responsible for point- to-point testing, download programming, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned projects.

Ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems.

Keeps current on DDC products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.

Troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules to identify concerns and determine corrective action,

Ensure proper set-points, schedules and sequences of operation are correctly programmed.

Provide timely response to diagnose source of concern, analyze system requirements, test components, and recommend corrective action, including on-call and emergency support as required.

Qualifications:

Journeyman in HVAC and BAS controls or combination of technical school and 3 years experience in the field of HVAC and BAS controls (DDC). Candidate must have experience operating and programming Building Automation Systems. Experience with lighting controls a plus. Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize a variety of computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office, BAS Server).

Certifications, Licenses:

HVAC Universal Refrigerant Certificate

Manufacturer certificate of training on Schneider controls preferred. Will consider other BAS controls manufacture certified training.

Factory certified training with Watt Stopper Lighting Controls a plus. Will consider other lighting controls manufacture certified training.

Salary

Negotiable, based on level of experience in all aspects of the required fields. *Please provide salary history with resume*

Language Skills:

Must be able to read and write English, attend meetings and occasionally do presentations or discuss BAS operation with management.

Reasoning Ability:

Must possess ability to explain BAS problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and solve any/and all problems dealing with the BAS systems.

Physical Demands:

This position requires working in diverse conditions, including but not limited, to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage).

This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, reaching with hands and arms, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, crawling, crouching and kneeling. It requires employees to regularly lift and/ or move up to 10-50lbs; and work on a ladder for extended periods of time.
